Dear friends,
We would like to take this opportunity to make you aware of some very important dates coming up in our Church Family. Last Sunday the congregation unanimously approved The Rev. Dr. Gary Cecil as our new pastor. Gary will start with his first Sunday in the pulpit on April 15th. This means that we have to say a sad goodbye to our long time interim, Rev. John King.
John came to us over four years ago in a very low time in our Church history. John has guided us through those times and our recovery as a congregation. He led us with his pure love of Jesus Christ, his humor, and even his stories. John loves us as a congregation and has worked with us as we have developed and laid the groundwork for our mission. He has also prepared us for Gary and Shelia coming to our Church.
We are preparing a thank you luncheon on Sunday April 8th immediately following the worship service for John. Everyone is invited to share a story, a thank you, or to just rejoice in the glory of the Lord on bringing us to John, and John to us.
As we enter this very special time of year, Holy week, please keep the following dates in mind. We invite you to attend as many of our events as possible.
- March 25 Palm Sunday Service and Choir Cantata
- March 29 Maundy Thursday Service 7:00 PM
- April 1 Easter Sunday Service 11:00 AM
- April 8 John Kings Goodbye Luncheon
- April 15 Rev. Dr. Gary Cecil First Sunday
